Reversal Promotion! US Open Women’s Singles First Round: Zheng Qinwen Defeats Anisimova

On August 27, in the early hours of today, the first round of the US Open women’s singles match concluded. Chinese player Zheng Qinwen, after losing the first set, made a comeback to defeat American local player Anisimova 2-1, successfully advancing to the second round.

In the first set, Zheng Qinwen started a bit slow, continuously losing points, falling behind 1-5 at one point. However, she tenaciously chased the score to 4-5, but unfortunately, she failed to hold serve in her service game and lost the first set with a score of 4-6, trailing 0-1 overall;

In the second set, Zheng Qinwen found her rhythm in serving, frequently delivering Ace serves, breaking serve first to establish an advantage, and then holding serve smoothly in the set-winning service game, winning back a set 6-4, leveling the score to 1-1 overall;

In the third set, Zheng Qinwen continued her efforts, taking the decisive set 6-2. Ultimately, she reversed the situation, defeating Anisimova 2-1, advancing to the second round.

Zheng Qinwen’s opponent in the second round is Andreieva. The latter won against Chinese player Yuan Yue in the first round with scores of 6-3, 7-6 (7), and a total of 2-1.
