Swiss Super League club Basel officially announced that the team has signed Shaqiri.
The 32-year-old Shaqiri, who came through the youth ranks at Basel, has also played for teams such as Bayern Munich and Inter Milan during his career. Over the past two seasons, he played for MLS side Chicago Fire. Last week, he officially terminated his contract with the team, becoming a free agent.
