Spanish Media: Alvarez's Jersey is a Hot Seller; Commercial Success Upon Joining Atlético Madrid

According to the Spanish newspaper AS, since Alvarez joined Atlético Madrid, he has already helped the club achieve significant commercial success: as high as 70% of fans chose jerseys printed with his name.

A welcome event was recently held at the Metropolitano Stadium where around 30,000 fans attended to greet new members of both the men’s and women’s teams. At this event, Alvarez became the player most anticipated by the fans.

On Sunday, the Argentine forward is expected to start in the match against Girona. During the jersey sales at the welcome event, jerseys with Alvarez’s name accounted for 70% of the total, far exceeding those of second-placed Griezmann (12%) and third-placed Solos (10%).

Notably, although the number of spectators that day was only half of a regular match, the official store within the stadium had sales equivalent to a match day. This indicates that fans are very eager to see the performance of the newly joined players.

To capitalize on the wave of enthusiasm brought by Alvarez, Atlético Madrid also launched a limited-edition jersey featuring a spider pattern on the chest. This jersey is limited to 919 pieces, available exclusively online, each priced at 219 euros.

Since joining, Alvarez has felt the enthusiastic support of Atlético Madrid fans. At the Majadahonda training base, many fans braved the weather, waiting outside just for a photo opportunity with Alvarez.
