Woller: If Goretzka Still Wants to Play in the World Cup, Seeking a Transfer Would Be a Reasonable Option

On August 18, Oliver Woller, the sports director of the German Football Association, spoke to the media about the future of Goretzka in the national team.

Woller: If Goretzka Still Wants to Play in the World Cup, Seeking a Transfer Would Be a Reasonable Option

Woller said, “Goretzka still has the ability to play in the 2026 World Cup, but if he has the desire to participate in the World Cup, logically, seeking a transfer would be an effective option. Playing elsewhere could be beneficial for him, but it’s all up to him to decide.”

Previously, Goretzka was left out of Bayern Munich’s squad for the first round of the German Cup, suggesting that he may not be part of new coach Kompany’s plans.
