Guardiola: I Don't Want Foden to Join the National Team, He Hasn't Recovered Yet

In the previous two rounds of Premier League matches, Manchester City star Foden was absent due to a stomach illness. However, he has been included in Casley’s national team squad and will join the team for the upcoming two international matches. Manchester City manager Guardiola hopes his player can stay at the club to recuperate.

Guardiola said in an interview, “I think Foden is not yet in a state to play in the national team games. He’s not feeling too well, his stomach is uncomfortable, and he’s also had a viral infection. He needs antibiotics just to maintain some level of health. I hope he can stay at the club to recover and regain his health after the international break.”

Foden missed both the 4-1 victory over Ipswich and the 3-1 victory over West Ham United. The England national team will travel to Berlin during this international break to play against Ireland, and three days later, they will head to Wembley to face Finland.

Speaking about another player called up by Casley, Lewis, Guardiola said, “Lewis deserves to be in the national team. I’m happy for him, really happy. He has performed excellently in the pre-season and the league, which is why he has been selected for the national team.”
