In a recent 2nd Bundesliga match, Darmstadt lost 0-4 to Eintracht Braunschweig, after which coach Rieberknecht resigned in the wake of the defeat.
In their official statement, Darmstadt wrote: “After internal analysis and extensive discussions with all parties involved, the 51-year-old coach requested to terminate cooperation for the benefit of the club.”
In the four league matches of the new season, Darmstadt has one draw and three losses, currently ranking second from the bottom.
