In the first half of the match, Mohun Bagan took a two-goal lead. However, after the break, Northeast United scored two goals within three minutes, at 56 and 58 minutes, tying the score at 2-2 and sending the game into a penalty shootout.
In the penalty shootout, Northeast United’s goalkeeper saved two penalties taken by Mohun Bagan players, ultimately helping the team win 4-3 (total score 6-5) and lift the trophy.
