In the second round of the US Open women’s singles, Japanese star Naomi Osaka, playing on a wildcard entry, lost both sets 3-6, 6-7 to Muchova, failing to advance.
After the loss, Naomi Osaka candidly shared during an interview, “Every time I lose a match, I feel like a part of me dies.” Osaka returned to the circuit this season after giving birth last July, with her goal being to perform exceptionally at the US Open, a tournament where she has excelled in the past.
“Honestly, I have recovered from childbirth, but that doesn’t mean I’m at my best. Losing is painful, but I want to improve, so I will do more debriefing,” said Osaka, bidding a regretful farewell to the US Open stage.
