According to BBC, Andy O’Boyle, the deputy director of football at Manchester United Football Club, is set to leave the club.
Two years ago, O’Boyle moved from the Premier League to Old Trafford when John Murtough was initiating a series of changes in his role as director of football. However, the involvement of the INEOS group fundamentally altered the club’s structure.
Sporting Director Dan Ashworth and Technical Director Jason Wilcox are now in charge of football operations, effectively leaving O’Boyle with little to do.
From the start of the year through July, O’Boyle played a crucial bridging role within the club during the transition period with Ashworth and CEO Omar Berrada, and he was significantly involved in the summer transfer window. However, as the club progresses, there is no longer a role for O’Boyle, and he will take some time off to consider his next move.
