According to Romano, Swedish defender Victor Lindelöf is not in a rush to leave Manchester United and would rather stay and fight for his place if there isn’t a suitable new club.

Manchester United have brought in Jolo and De Ligt this summer. Although Jolo suffered a serious injury, Lindelöf’s playing time will still be less than last season. Even worse, Lindelöf has recently been on crutches due to an injury and is unlikely to be available in the short term.

When discussing Lindelöf’s prospects, Romano said: “Lindelöf is not in a hurry to leave Manchester United; it would have to be a transfer to another top club.”

“He was on the recruitment lists of Atlético Madrid, Inter Milan, and several other clubs last year, but Manchester United were not willing to sell him at the time, and Ten Hag wanted to keep him in the squad. Now that Lindelöf’s contract only has one year left, he will not accept any offer unless it is something he is 100% satisfied with. After the summer window closes, he can wait until the winter window to negotiate a free transfer with overseas clubs.”

“So Lindelöf will patiently evaluate all options and will not rush to submit a transfer request unless there is an excellent opportunity to join another top club.”
