Environmental Activists Spray Paint Messi's Mansion Calling it an Illegal Construction; Messi Has Initiated a Lawsuit for 50,000 Euros

On August 17th, Lionel Messi’s mansion on the Spanish island of Ibiza was severely defaced by a group of environmental activists. Messi has also initiated a lawsuit, seeking 50,000 euros in damages from these activists.

Last week, members of a Spanish environmental organization arrived at Messi’s mansion on Ibiza and vandalized the property with red and black paint. They carried signs reading: “Save the Planet, Eat the Rich, Abolish the Police.”

The mansion sprayed by the activists is valued at 11 million euros on the market. The activists claimed that this mansion violates environmental laws and is thus an illegal construction.

Recently, Messi’s legal team has filed a lawsuit against the activists involved in the vandalism, charging them with criminal damage and demanding 50,000 euros in compensation.

However, a spokesperson for the environmental organization disagrees with Messi’s claim amount: “The sprayed paint will wash off with water, requiring only a simple wipe. Even if repainting is needed, the cost would not be as exorbitant as 50,000 euros.”
