No Interest in Serving the Nation? British Media: Southgate Has Left but Ben White Still Won't Be Called Up for England Team

According to the British ‘Daily Mail’, Ben White is unlikely to appear on England’s training roster for September.

Since a heated argument with England assistant coach Steve Holland during the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Ben White has not played for England again. With Southgate and Holland leaving their posts after the loss in the final of this summer’s European Championship, it was widely believed that White might return to the England team under a new coach.

However, the ‘Daily Mail’ reports that interim England manager Lee Carsley will not include White in his squad because the defender’s attitude has not changed. According to sources, White is not very interested in returning to the England team.

Earlier this year, when the England team lost a friendly match against Brazil, White and his wife went on vacation to Dubai on the day of the game, which drew harsh criticism from Harry Redknapp. Redknapp said, “Gareth says the door is still open for White, but I think that door should be closed immediately. He had the opportunity but refused to be selected. I think this attitude is terrible, and I can’t accept it. If he doesn’t want to play, that’s fine, but he shouldn’t be considered for the England team anymore. He should be proud to play for his country, and if he doesn’t want to play, there are many people who would sacrifice everything just to wear the England jersey.”

Currently, Ben White remains Arsenal’s preferred right-back and has helped the team win against Wolves and Aston Villa in the first two rounds of the Premier League.
