After Signing Félix, Chelsea's Transfer Spending Exceeds £200 Million, Tops the Premier League; Liverpool Remains Unbothered with Zero Spending

Sky Sports has tallied up the spending of Premier League teams as of the time of writing. After signing Félix, Chelsea’s transfer expenditure has surpassed £200 million, currently topping the list of spending by Premier League teams.

This season, under Berli’s management, the situation has intensified even further. After a flurry of signings, Chelsea’s first-team squad now numbers 47 players. However, their performance does not seem to have improved; they lost their first game of the new season to defending champions Manchester City. Such blind recruitment raises concerns about whether their investment will yield proportional returns.

Ranking second is Manchester United, whose acquisitions of Yorro, De Ligt, and Mazraoui, among others, have led to a spending total of £155.2 million.

Worth noting is that Liverpool has yet to sign any player during this summer transfer window, with zero spending, placing them firmly at the bottom. With the transfer window soon closing, the Reds appear to have no plans for signings, perhaps indicating satisfaction with their current squad. Reigning champions Manchester City rank fourth from the bottom in terms of spending, with only £33.5 million spent.
