Prior to the Saudi Super Cup final, Riyadh Crescent’s head coach, Jesus, stated that his decision not to include Abdulhamid in the starting lineup for the final was not due to the latter potentially transferring to Serie A club Roma.
At Friday’s press conference, Jesus explained that he chose Hamad Al-Yami as the starter because his technical characteristics better fit the team’s tactical setup for the final.
Regarding whether Malcolm could participate after joining training on Friday, Jesus said, “Malcolm is actively recovering. He will join training, and if his condition allows, he will have the opportunity to play in the final. We look forward to his return, as he provides diverse tactical options and has always been a key player for us.”
Jesus, who led the team to victory last year, expressed great excitement about reaching the final again and hopes the match will meet expectations.
He said, “Our opponents are strong, and this game reflects the progress of Saudi football, as both teams have high-level players.”
