At a recent Europa League pre-match press conference, 61-year-old Fenerbahçe coach Mourinho expressed that he still possesses a great deal of passion.
Although Mourinho has a glorious track record, his recent coaching experiences at Tottenham Hotspur, Roma, and Fenerbahçe have raised doubts about his passion. In response to this, Mourinho, running his hand through his grey hair, said, “I may have changed a bit on the outside, but inside, the fire still burns fiercely. My ambition hasn’t changed in 20 years. Although our current situation is difficult.”
Mourinho also spoke about their opponents, Twente: “Their greatest strength lies in the fact that they are a true team. You can see how much effort they put in behind the scenes during matches. They possess the qualities of traditional Dutch teams, understanding the art of defense, controlling possession, and patiently waiting for counter-attack opportunities. This pragmatic approach makes them very competitive.”
“Fenerbahçe will never lack ambition; we want to win the championship.”
