According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, if FC Barcelona ultimately fails to sign Wojciech Szczesny for any reason, the club will not bring in another goalkeeper.
Previously, multiple Spanish media outlets reported that Szczesny has already reached an agreement with Barça for a free transfer, and he is expected to undergo a medical examination next Monday. If all goes well, both parties will sign a one-year contract as per Szczesny’s wishes.
Following Ter Stegen’s severe injury, Barça currently only has two goalkeepers, Peña and Astraga, on their first-team roster. In the last La Liga match, Barça had to include their B team’s young goalkeeper, the 18-year-old Giorgi Jakobishvili, in the squad list.
