According to British media outlet “Football Insider,” insiders reveal that Jose Mourinho, currently managing Fenerbahce, has emerged as a frontrunner for the position of Everton’s next manager.
Everton has struggled this season, securing only one win and one draw in the first six rounds of the Premier League, accumulating four points and temporarily ranking 16th in the league. Consequently, the position of manager Sean Dyche, nicknamed “Ginger Mourinho,” has become increasingly precarious.
It is understood that during internal discussions about new managerial candidates, Everton’s management mentioned Mourinho. Notably, the Friedkin family, who have become the new owners of Everton, previously worked with Mourinho at Roma.
Insiders reveal that 59-year-old Dan Friedkin has privately told friends that he does not believe Dyche is the right person to lead Everton into a new era. Dyche’s current contract will expire at the end of this season, and Friedkin has no intention of renewing it.
