Balotelli: I Rejected Invitations from Overseas Leagues Because I Want to Return to Serie A

Recently, Balotelli gave an interview to DAZN, stating that the media has misunderstood him too much. He actively rejected opportunities from overseas leagues because he wants to return to Serie A. Moreover, he believes that his current ability is still up to par and can meet the needs of any Serie A team.

Firstly, Balotelli talked about his future plans: “Regarding my future? I want to return to Serie A, that’s why I stayed at home.” Balotelli hinted that he received offers from several overseas league clubs, but he proactively slowed down the negotiations.

Then, he talked about the media’s misunderstanding of him, saying: “I don’t understand people’s prejudice against Balotelli. I had disagreements with some coaches, but everyone does. In my career, I’ve never ruined a locker room. Today, you hear rumors about me taking drugs and gambling, but I have distanced myself from them.”

He then spoke about his painful experiences, saying: “I have long suffered from loneliness, negativity, and lack of security. During those days, it was fortunate that I had my family with me. Psychological therapy helped me because I believe everyone has mental trauma. The process greatly changed me because now I am more self-aware, which is my weapon, as you know how to control yourself. I somewhat regret not seeking psychological therapy earlier.”

Finally, he said: “Among all the current Serie A teams, there is no team I cannot adapt to. I should consider more which team doesn’t suit me.”
