According to talkSPORT, the rather complex termination issues between Pochettino and Chelsea have finally been resolved, and he is set to officially become the head coach of the United States men’s national team.
Reports suggest that Pochettino reached a verbal agreement with the U.S. Soccer Federation last month, agreeing to take over from Berhalter, but the official announcement was delayed due to unresolved compensation matters with Chelsea.
It is understood that after lengthy negotiations, Pochettino and Chelsea have come to an agreement, with him receiving a £10 million severance package, thus becoming a free agent.
talkSPORT reveals that Pochettino chose the U.S. team for both professional and family reasons. He finds it appealing to lead the U.S. team in the World Cup and the Olympics and is willing to join the U.S. Soccer Federation’s team-building plan.
