According to UK media outlet TBR Sports, Chelsea has abandoned its plans to sign Barcelona defender Jules Koundé. The Blues have now shifted their focus to Fiorentina full-back Cayo.
The report states that Chelsea had originally planned to sign Barcelona defender Jules Koundé during the winter transfer window for manager Malesca, with a willingness to offer around €60 million. However, after an assessment, Chelsea’s management concluded that Koundé was not interested in leaving Barcelona in the winter window, leading to the club abandoning its pursuit of him.
Chelsea has now turned its attention to Fiorentina’s full-back Cayo, who has performed exceptionally well this season and is available at a much lower price, estimated at around €25 million.
