Spanish Media: Bayern Munich Abandons Renewal Talks with Davies; Real Madrid to Act Early to Avoid Tchouaméni-style Fiasco

According to Spanish media outlet Relevo, Bayern Munich has effectively abandoned renewal talks with Alphonso Davies, bringing the player closer to a move to Real Madrid. To avoid a repeat of the summer’s Tchouaméni-like disappointment, Real Madrid plans to step up efforts in January to finalize this transfer.

Rumors linking Alphonso Davies with Real Madrid have been circulating for almost a year. In the summer, Real Madrid failed to secure the Canadian player but kept him at the top of their list. For the Bernabéu side, waiting a year until the player could join as a free agent in 2025 was always one of their strategies. They continue working hard and sending signals to the player that choosing Real Madrid would be the right decision.

On Bayern’s side, they have largely given up on renewing Davies’ contract. According to sources cited by Relevo, the Bundesliga giants have ceased negotiations with the left-back’s agent. Fortunately, Bayern has not excluded the player from their lineup. Domenico Tedesco continues to rely on Davies, who has contributed in matches against Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, and Kiel in the Bundesliga.

In Munich, Davies maintains a smile, and his teammates see him as calm, ignoring the rumors swirling off the pitch.
