Constant Blunders and Complete Loss of Trust: Korean Football Coaches Association Calls for Chung Mong-Kyu to Resign as KFA PresidentAccording to reports from South Korean media, in response to the recent scandals continuously erupting within the Korean Football Association (KFA), the Korean Football Coaches Association has issued a statement demanding that KFA President Chung Mong-Kyu resign immediately.

Since the dismissal of Jürgen Klinsmann, a series of actions taken by the KFA have sparked dissatisfaction among South Korean media and fans. Particularly controversial was the process of appointing a new head coach, which led to many high-ranking officials within the KFA being questioned by the National Assembly. Despite this, Chung Mong-Kyu insisted that he was wholeheartedly serving South Korean football.

However, Chung’s statements clearly failed to convince South Korean media and fans. The Korean Football Coaches Association released a statement demanding Chung’s resignation, “For the future and development of South Korean football, all members of the Korean Football Coaches Association demand new leadership and urge Chung Mong-Kyu to resign, as this is the only feasible solution at present.”

The Korean Football Coaches Association even stated that if Chung resigns now, it would be his last chance, “He has served three consecutive terms as KFA president for 12 years, yet blunders and mistakes continue to occur, proving that he is no longer fit to remain in the position of KFA president. Moreover, opposition against him is growing, and trust in him has been completely lost.”

The Korean Football Coaches Association expressed that the KFA has become a laughingstock, with all blame attributed to Chung Mong-Kyu. Furthermore, the recent scandals within the KFA should be held accountable by Chung.
