Newcastle Manager: We Were Equal to City for the First 70 Minutes, Can’t Ask for More from the Team

On September 28th, in the sixth round of the Premier League, Newcastle drew 1-1 with Manchester City at home. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe praised his players, stating that the Magpies were on par with the Sky Blues on the pitch for the first 70 minutes of the game.

Eddie Howe was satisfied with the team’s performance: “After the loss in the last round, we are happy to have drawn with Manchester City. It was a very exciting match, we stuck to our style of play and were not afraid of the opponent. For the first 70 minutes, we were equal to Manchester City on the pitch. However, in the final 20 minutes, Manchester City performed better than us, fortunately, our defense was outstanding, securing us the one point. I am very satisfied with the team’s off-the-ball movement and offensive performance; the players gave it their all on the pitch, and I can’t ask for more from the team.”

Eddie Howe praised the goal-scoring hero Gordon: “I’ve always said he could handle the role on the field, his running on the pitch, as well as the vitality he brings to the team, is surprising. I’m glad he scored a goal, which is also the result of his relentless efforts.”
