According to journalist Hector Gomez, Dani Cuéllar, a Valencia fan, has been detained in Singapore after displaying a banner reading “Lim Out” outside the residence of the club’s largest shareholder, Peter Lim, a few days ago. He is awaiting trial along with his wife, though they are unaware of the charges against them.
The Valencia fan told Tribuna Deportiva that their passports were confiscated last Friday, and they were placed in a hotel under restriction until their trial at 3:30 PM local time on Tuesday.
Last week, Cuéllar and his partner traveled to Singapore where they displayed a sign saying “Lim go home” at Marina Bay Sands and stuck a “Lim Out” sticker on the gate of Peter Lim’s mansion in the city.
This fan expressed the discontent of Valencia supporters in Singapore, an emotion that has transcended borders. Initially expressed in Valencia, it then spread to London and New York, and now it has reached the country of the club’s largest shareholder.
Valencia fans have been demanding that Peter Lim leave the Mestalla club. A few months ago, the Valencia Fans Union facilitated the display of their displeasure with the Singaporean tycoon on the large screens in Times Square, and these protests spread to London a few weeks later.
However, this act seems to be unwelcome by the local government in Singapore.
