Roma Captain Pellegrini: Do Not Understand Why Fans Boo Me; I Cannot Accept Being Accused of Things I Have Not Done

On October 3rd, Roma captain Pellegrini gave an interview. He expressed his confusion over why Roma fans would boo him and stated that he cannot accept being blamed for things he has not done.

Pellegrini spoke about De Rossi’s dismissal: “I thank him for everything he has done for me, both in terms of football and my life outside the pitch. He has been a great help to me. I did not expect De Rossi to be fired, and I believe the team does not need changes. I do not understand the fans’ boos towards me, and what I cannot accept is being accused of things I have not done.”

Pellegrini continued speaking about De Rossi: “I did not expect him to be fired, nor did the team think about making changes. We are not satisfied with the results at the beginning of the season, but our team atmosphere is good, and everyone believes that our performance will improve. However, we still need to move forward, to live up to the fans and the badge on our chests.”

Pellegrini talked about his feelings as captain: “Roma has had great captains in its history, such as Totti and De Rossi. Being the captain of Roma is not just a responsibility, but also an honor and a burden. I take on this responsibility, and I am always the first one in the team to face problems head-on. For professional players, if their performance is poor, then accepting criticism is a normal thing. I try to remain objective.”

Pellegrini talked about his love for Roma: “Everyone knows how much I care about the jersey on my chest, our team, our city, and the fans who love us. Playing for Roma is not just wearing this jersey, it carries special value.”
