L'Equipe: Marseille Hopes to Host the Champions League Final at Stade Vélodrome

September 25 According to French newspaper L’Equipe, the city hall of Marseille, France, is applying to host the 2027 Champions League final. The previously confirmed venue, San Siro stadium in Milan, has been ruled out by FIFA for hosting the final.

The city hall of Marseille hopes to host the final of this top-tier European club competition at the local Stade Vélodrome.

“Why not go to Marseille, at the most beautiful stadium in France: the Stade Vélodrome. We will support Marseille’s candidacy together with Mayor Benoît Payan,” Sebastian Gibraiel, a relevant official from the city hall of Marseille, voiced on his social media.
