The UEFA has officially announced that the Executive Committee has approved the solidarity contribution distribution plan for teams not participating in UEFA club competitions for the 2024-27 season. These teams will receive an estimated 7% of the expected revenue, with a total annual amount exceeding EUR 300 million.
UEFA estimates that during the 2024-27 season, the expected annual revenue of UEFA will reach EUR 4.4 billion. The proportion of solidarity contributions allocated to teams not participating in UEFA club competitions will increase from 4% to 7%, with the estimated amount reaching EUR 308 million.
Among these, the upper limit of the bonus allocation for teams in the top 5 leagues in Europe is EUR 10 million. This increased solidarity contribution distribution plan will benefit the remaining 50 associations the most, with available funds increasing from the current EUR 135 million to EUR 258 million, almost doubling.
Seventy percent of these funds will be allocated based on each team’s ranking on the UEFA admission list, while the remaining 30% will be distributed proportionally according to the amount earned by the highest-earning team in the association. This distribution method ensures that financial support promotes competitive balance in the leagues of various countries.
UEFA stated that to ensure the rational use of funds, teams must meet certain UEFA licensing standards, especially those related to youth training. Although the broad policy has been finalized, many details of the implementation process still need to be continuously negotiated, adjusted, and perfected by UEFA with the associations and clubs. Specific details will be finalized over the coming weeks.
