Appeal Filed! Juventus Officially Confirms They Have Lodged an Appeal in the Case of Cristiano Ronaldo's Unpaid Wages

Juventus has confirmed that they will appeal the ruling to pay Cristiano Ronaldo €9.8 million in unpaid wages. This information was found in the documents released after today’s board meeting.

Among the many pages released by the club, there is a note announcing that Juventus lodged an appeal with the Turin Labor Court on September 26, 2024. The issue erupted on transfer deadline day in August 2021 when Ronaldo left Juventus to join Manchester United. He signed a document confirming that the club no longer owed him any money, although he still had some unpaid wages.

However, Ronaldo later filed an appeal and received partial support in April 2024, with a ruling that Juventus must pay the Portuguese player €9.8 million. This situation caused some confusion because these wages were officially “waived” by Ronaldo in 2020 during the pandemic to help the club through tough times. However, it was later discovered that many players privately agreed to receive these wages in different forms, including bonuses and sponsorship agreements.
