According to AS, the Egyptian club Zamalek SC is willing to meet Sergio Ramos’ salary demands.
Since leaving Sevilla in June, the 38-year-old Ramos has been without a club. He has received offers from various parts of the world, including Brazil, the United States, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. MLS team FC San Diego had made a very attractive offer that seemed like the most likely option, but negotiations have apparently hit a snag.
According to Brazilian media, Grêmio even considered signing both Ramos and his former teammate Keylor Navas, who is also a free agent. However, Ramos’ salary demand of €500,000 per month deterred Grêmio. Now, the Egyptian club Zamalek SC has entered the race for Ramos and is reportedly willing to meet his salary demands.
The son of Zamalek SC’s vice president, Ali Hisham Nasser, stated on national television, “Zamalek is a great club and deserves a player like Ramos. We believe that reaching an agreement with Ramos would be positive not only from a sporting perspective but also in terms of marketing. This player is available as a free agent, and signing him would be a huge advantage. Any club in the world would want Ramos.”
Ramos’ agent team has stated that they have not yet received a formal offer from Zamalek.
