Jadon Sancho continues to shine at his new club Chelsea, which might be painful for Manchester United fans to see.
Chelsea secured a 3-0 victory over West Ham United in the London derby. Nicolas Jackson scored twice and provided an assist, while Palmer also found the back of the net. However, Sancho’s performance cannot be overlooked.
The new Chelsea signing made his first start for the Blues after joining on loan from Manchester United. In the previous round against Bournemouth, Sancho came off the bench and assisted Nkunku for the only goal of the game.
Due to his impressive display, Sancho earned Malesca’s trust and was given the starting nod against West Ham United. He repaid that faith by assisting Jackson’s opening goal just four minutes into the match.
In addition to this assist, Sancho showed many bright spots on the left wing. He created the most chances (2) in the first half. Furthermore, he touched the ball 24 times, had a passing accuracy of 90%, successfully dribbled once, and won one duel.
Sancho has now contributed an assist in two consecutive Premier League games, a first in his career.
More notably, he provided two assists for Chelsea in just 49 minutes, averaging an assist every 25 minutes. Of course, considering his total playing time, it amounts to two assists in 102 minutes. Regardless, this is more efficient than his time at Manchester United, where he needed 600 minutes to provide one assist.
It is worth noting that before their match against Crystal Palace, no Manchester United player had more than one assist in the Premier League. Even the Red Devils’ captain Bruno Fernandes did not perform better than Sancho.
Sancho’s deal with Chelsea is a one-year loan, which could turn into a permanent transfer if certain conditions are met. Given the current situation, this player is likely to sign a long-term contract with the Blues very soon.
