Today, Paris legend Jérôme Alonzo, in an interview with Le Parisien, spoke about the current goalkeeper for the team, Gianluigi Donnarumma. He believes that Donnarumma has serious technical issues which lead to his frequent struggles during matches.
Alonzo stated, “Donnarumma takes too long to make decisions (whether to come out or not), so he often finds himself in a state of uncertainty, which gives the impression that he is always a step behind. This means that his initial positioning is poor, so I believe there is a technical issue in his decision-making—he often hesitates between coming out and staying put.”
Additionally, the report mentions that this summer, Paris spent 20 million euros to sign Russian international goalkeeper Safonov, which suggests that Donnarumma’s starting position is not unshakable. If he cannot deliver impressive performances in subsequent games, even his starting position could be at risk.
