Official: Cerezo Osaka Defender Koki Funaki Suffers Left Fibula Fracture

On October 3, Cerezo Osaka officially announced that team defender Koki Funaki has suffered a left fibula fracture.

The announcement reads as follows:

Koki Funaki was injured during training and, after an examination, was diagnosed with a left fibula fracture.

Koki Funaki is currently 26 years old and came through the ranks at Cerezo Osaka. He was promoted to the first team in February 2017 and was subsequently loaned out to Ventforet Kofu and SC Sagamihara. After returning to Cerezo Osaka in January 2022, Funaki became a key player for the team, making 36 appearances this season and scoring one goal.
