Santos Relegated to Brazil's Second Division, Neymar Considers Joining Flamengo

Since suffering a severe knee injury in 2023, Neymar has been unable to return to the pitch. Recently, he discussed his future in an interview.

When asked about his time at Al-Hilal Riyadh, Neymar stated that his contract with the club will end in 2025, and he intends to see out the remaining year of his player option before departing, as his former Brazilian club, Santos, is calling him back.

However, Santos surprisingly dropped down to the second division this year in the Brasileirão. While vacationing in Brazil, Neymar attended a match between Flamengo and Grêmio, where he commented after the game: “I’ve always said I want to play for Flamengo, it’s my second favorite team, my favorite being, of course, Santos. I have the utmost respect for Santos, the club that helped shape me into the player I am, but I also have a deep connection with Flamengo.”

“It would be a great joy to represent Flamengo, but it’s too early to make any definitive statements since I still have a year left on my contract with Al-Hilal, and I’m still in Saudi Arabia. Nobody knows what the future holds,” he added.
