The Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) has officially announced that Wim Jonk has become the assistant coach of the Netherlands national team. It is reported that Wim Jonk will serve as an assistant to head coach Ronald Koeman, with a contract running until the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 58-year-old Jonk is a former Dutch international who played as a midfielder. Wim Jonk stated, “As a former international, I still remember how special it felt to wear the Netherlands national team jersey. When the national team invited me, I was full of enthusiasm. In the future, I hope to help the Netherlands national team grow further.”
Netherlands national team head coach Ronald Koeman said, “With the arrival of Wim, our coaching staff for the next two years is now complete, and we hope to achieve good results in the UEFA Nations League, followed by efforts towards the 2026 World Cup.”
