On October 8, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, when speaking about local rivals Everton, expressed his belief that Everton would not be relegated, likening them to the Real Madrid of relegation-threatened teams, always managing to escape the drop.

Carragher on Everton’s relegation prospects: “My view on Everton is that they are like the Real Madrid of relegation teams, always finding a way to avoid the drop. Just as Real Madrid often wins the Champions League, Everton always manages to survive in the relegation battle.”

Despite Everton’s decline, Carragher still believes that the Merseyside Derby holds a special significance: “I love derby matches. I grew up with derbies. I played in them and even after retiring, I watch and analyze them. For the Premier League, Everton is an indispensable big club.”

In the first seven rounds of the Premier League, Everton has 1 win, 2 draws, and 4 losses, accumulating 5 points, placing them 16th in the league, currently 2 points above the relegation zone.
