The official FIFA announcement states that the Cameroonian Football Association (FECAFOOT) president and former football legend, Samuel Eto’o, has been banned from football for six months.
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee stated: “The FIFA Disciplinary Committee announces a ban of six months on the participation in Cameroonian football activities at all levels for FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto’o, due to his violation of Article 13 (offensive behavior or violation of fair play) and Article 14 (misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.”
“This sanction is based on incidents that occurred during the U20 Women’s World Cup match between Brazil and Cameroon in Bogota, Colombia, on September 11, 2024. The ban imposed on Mr. Eto’o prohibits him from participating in any football-related activities involving both male and female teams across all age groups in Cameroon. Mr. Eto’o has been notified of the effective date of the ban today.”
