Recently, Carafiglio talked about his move to Arsenal and the differences between Serie A and the Premier League in an interview.
Carafiglio told TG1: “Perhaps it’s too early to say now, but I do believe that I have made a good impression. I have adapted well here, thanks to my teammates and the staff.”
“I don’t think the Premier League is much stronger than Serie A, but it is definitely different. It has more intensity, and the style is different. Coming to England is a very good step in my career.”
He appeared in Italy’s 3-1 away victory over France in the Nations League earlier this month but subsequently got injured; hence, he will be a key figure in Spalletti’s Azzurri going forward.
Carafiglio said: “This is a new era. We will try to forget what happened in the past, or at least learn from it to avoid repeating the same mistakes.”
Although Carafiglio usually plays as a central defender for Italy and previously at Bologna, so far, he has been playing as a left-back at Arsenal. Nonetheless, coach Arteta seems to have given him a certain freedom, allowing him to move freely and find his own position.
