Breaking the Rules for Messi! MLS to Allow Inter Miami to Change Two Kits in a Season, Previously Only One Was Allowed per Season

According to Miami Futbol TV, Major League Soccer (MLS) will permit Inter Miami CF to break the rules by changing two kits in a season, all thanks to the unparalleled star power of Lionel Messi.

Under the leadership of Coach Gerardo Martino, Inter Miami CF recently won the MLS Supporters’ Shield and has become a strong contender for the MLS title. Messi’s arrival has not only elevated the team’s competitive level but also brought significant commercial and marketing value. Jorge Mas, co-chairman of Inter Miami CF, revealed that Messi’s signing has nearly quadrupled the club’s annual revenue, reaching $200 million. The sales of jerseys, especially Messi’s number 10 jersey, have increased significantly.

Messi’s influence on Inter Miami CF has been immense, completely transforming the team’s fortunes. Typically, MLS teams change one kit per year (home or away), while retaining the other. However, Inter Miami CF is one of the few teams with a third kit provided by Adidas, inspired by the Miami Dolphins NFL team.

In addition, Inter Miami CF is expected to launch new home and away kits simultaneously next season. This is highly unusual in the MLS, but given the team’s influence, they will receive special treatment, allowing fans the opportunity to purchase new jerseys.

Pete Brown, host of Miami Futbol TV, stated: “Inter Miami CF’s jersey sales far exceed those of any other team in the league. Therefore, they have been granted permission to break the MLS rules. Normally, teams update one kit per year, but due to the massive sales by Inter Miami CF, if all fans who bought the old pink jersey upgrade to the new one, Inter Miami CF, MLS, and Adidas would all benefit greatly.”

The next home kit for Inter Miami will continue with the iconic pink design, as a tribute to Messi’s contributions. The 37-year-old soccer king has just won his 46th trophy in his career and hopes to compete for his 47th in the upcoming playoffs.
