On October 7, the national team arrived in Adelaide, Australia at 4 PM local time on the afternoon of the 6th. According to reports from the Beijing Youth Daily, due to the tight schedule and heavy tasks, the team plans to conduct their first training session after arriving at the away match venue on that same evening.
There was heated discussion yesterday regarding the national team’s decision not to charter a plane due to concerns over public opinion. Reports stated that considering there are direct flights from Shanghai to several Australian gateway cities including Sydney, and the flight time from Sydney to Adelaide is no more than 2 hours, the Chinese Football Association did not rent a chartered plane for the national team to travel to Adelaide. As for the idea of a “chartered flight,” it was only considered for the return trip of the national team on October 11 (back to Qingdao, the venue for the fourth round of the 18-strong qualifier).
In accordance with the original plan, as long as time permits, the national team will head to the training ground for physical recovery training on the same night they arrive in Adelaide. Since the flight carrying the team arrived just 5 minutes later than scheduled, the team will proceed with the original plan. The training session is expected to start around 6:30 PM local time.
According to the schedule, the national team will face Australia at 5:10 PM on October 10.
