Poland’s head coach Czesław Michniewicz has reiterated that Robert Lewandowski will not start in the match against the Netherlands.
Previously, Lewandowski, forward Szymon Żurkowski, and defender Dawid Kownacki sustained injuries. However, Żurkowski might still be fit to face the Dutch, alleviating some pressure on the frontline. In Lewandowski’s absence, Zielinski will assume the captain’s role.
Michniewicz emphasized, “Lewandowski is one of the best players in the world, and of course, we miss him. Now, other players must step up and show their best. This game will show me how it feels without him. He won’t start, but I don’t rule out the possibility of him coming on as a substitute.”
“Some underestimate us, others see us as underdogs, but as a team, we believe in ourselves and keep fighting,” Michniewicz added.
