During the second round of Euro Cup group matches when Denmark faced England, supporters in the stands at the Frankfurt Arena unveiled a banner with abusive language aimed at UEFA. This incident led to UEFA’s investigation, which was acknowledged by both UEFA and the Danish Football Association on Monday.

The Danish FA Chairman, Rasmussen, speaking to Danish TV2, stated that the association would pay the fine in full and is actively investigating who was responsible for bringing the banner into the stadium. If identified, the culprit will be held accountable for the cost of the fine. Rasmussen commented, “We hope that those considering bringing similar banners to matches will think twice.”

When responding to DPA’s inquiries, UEFA only confirmed the amount of the fine without divulging specific details about the violation, simply stating, “The Danish FA has been sanctioned for a message displayed by its supporters which was ‘not appropriate for a sports event’.”
