October 29, Romano reported that Manchester United is about to pay a buyout clause of €10 million to appoint Sporting CP’s manager Ruben Amorim as the new head coach. “Here We Go!”, the two parties are expected to sign a contract until 2027.
According to previous reports, after dismissing Ten Hag, Manchester United immediately contacted Amorim and was willing to pay his €10 million buyout clause.
Manchester United is expected to pay around £16 million for the dismissal of Ten Hag, and will spend another €10 million on Amorim, along with a three-year contract with an annual salary of €7-8 million.
The 39-year-old Portuguese manager, Ruben Amorim, played for Benfica, Braga, and other teams during his playing career. After retiring in 2017, he went on to manage Braga and Sporting CP. Since taking charge of Sporting CP in 2020, he has led the team to win two Primeira Liga titles, two Portuguese League Cup titles, and one Portuguese Super Cup title.
