Jakarta – PT Pertamina Patra Niaga guarantees secure stocks of fuel oil (BBM), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and avtur during the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP racing event from October 13 to 15.

“Considering that the preparations for the Mandalika MotoGP have started a few days ago, with several logistics planes already leaving Lombok Island, along with the need for good avtur and fuel supply to support logistics operations, our efforts have indeed been carried out ahead of time. This effort will continue until the entire Pertamina Indonesia Grand Prix Series is completed,” said Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director Riva Siahaan, as quoted by ANTARA on Tuesday, October 10th.

In addition, based on the success of the MotoGP, operational hours at key facilities have been extended, such as the avtur supply at Lombok International Airport and the Ampenan Fuel Terminal in Mataram City, NTB, for fuel needs.

Pertamina Patra Niaga anticipates a 190% increase in the daily normal distribution of avtur demands from October 5 to 17, with the Lombok International Airport’s Airplane Charging Station (DPPU) operating 24 hours to meet the avtur needs of logistics planes, rental planes, and increased flight schedules to and from Lombok during the Mandalika MotoGP event. As for fuel demand, Pertamina Patra Niaga also expects a roughly 43% rise in daily consumption. Consequently, the Ampenan Fuel Terminal, as the mainstay of Lombok’s fuel supply, will extend its operating hours from 02.00 WITA (West Indonesian Time), usually starting at 06.00 WITA, and will operate on Sundays as well.

“Given that the preparations for the Mandalika MotoGP have started a few days ago, with several logistics transport planes already departing from Lombok Island, along with the logistics operations vehicles that require good avtur and fuel supply, our efforts have indeed been completed in advance. This effort will continue until the entire Pertamina Indonesia Grand Prix Series concludes,” Riva said.

The energy demands are intended to cater to logistics traffic, mobility for those coming to Lombok, restaurants and hotels, as well as the daily needs of the people of Lombok, Pertamina Patra Niaga stated.

“We ensure and secure energy stock and distribution for safety and security. In addition to regular services, Pertamina Patra Niaga will also remind key facilities and prepare additional services to support smooth energy supply for MotoGP needs or daily public demands,” Riva said.

Aside from ensuring stock and facility readiness, Riva mentioned that Pertamina Patra Niaga has prepared a 24-hour petrol station on major routes, with a Pertamax Turbo dedicated blending unit for race operation fuel consumption, including security vehicles, as well as LPG bases and agents that will operate during holidays to meet community needs. Thus, apart from upstream activities, Pertamina Patra Niaga also ensures safe operations and distribution, while making sure its distribution agencies are ready to cope with the surge in energy demands. As the main event approaches, there will be an increase in fuel demands for community and spectator transportation, followed by higher LPG consumption in restaurants and hotels. “We will be prepared and guarantee meeting these demands,” Riva concluded.
