The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has appointed Basia Archer as its new Chief Executive Officer, further strengthening its leadership team. Archer joins the WTA from the NBA, where she served as Chief Operating Officer of the NBA G League. She will assume her role as WTA CEO on July 29, 2024.
Archer brings over 20 years of experience in global sports and media, having held senior positions at NBC Sports Group, HBO, and the BBC. Most recently, she served as COO of the NBA G League, overseeing business and operational aspects, expanding fan engagement, and driving commercial growth.
With a strong background in business strategy, Archer has worked across various organizations focusing on professional sports and media ecosystems, driving development and transformative success.
