From June 9 to 10, during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the 2024 YONEX “TEAM ONE” Tennis Team Tournament – Social Group made its first stop at the Sichuan CTI International Tennis Center in Chengdu, gathering tennis enthusiasts from all over the country for a thrilling event.
The YONEX “TEAM ONE” Tennis Team Tournament is a new IP event launched by YONEX this year, targeting university students and social individuals. This Chengdu Social Group saw 13 teams from across the nation, each consisting of four male and female main players, one male and one female substitute, totaling ten members. The YONEX Stars team, the Sichuan Fudan Alumni Association, the Le Wei-Thursday Tennis Club, and the Dalian Youying Tennis Club served as seeded teams. Each team competed in five events: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
On the morning of June 9 at 8:30 am, the opening ceremony began promptly. Attendees included Deputy Minister of Sales Division and Director of Tennis Promotion at Yonex (Shanghai) Sports Products Co., Ltd., Chen Zhenglong, President of Chengdu Tennis Association, Li Zhonggui, Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Director of Sichuan CTI International Tennis Center Development Co., Ltd., Bai Lei, Vice President of Chengdu Tennis Association, Li Jiewei, Vice President of Chengdu Tennis Association, Yang Min, and Vice President of Chengdu Tennis Association, Lin Jiarui, who jointly inaugurated the tournament.

After two days of intense competition, the champions were crowned. The Le Wei-Thursday Tennis Club from Chengdu claimed victory; the Fudan Qingyun Team took second place; while the YONEX Stars team and Dalian Youying Tennis Club secured third place.

Le Wei-Thursday Tennis Club captain Huang Ling shared, “We chose this team name because we play and train together every Thursday. The referee team was professional, leaving us with an unforgettable experience.”
Third-place team member Qiu Jingshan from the YONEX Stars team commented, “The overall level of this tournament was very high, featuring top amateur teams from around the country. In team competitions, teammates cheer you on, creating a great atmosphere. It also provided a great opportunity for us to interact with other high-level players. What impressed me most was that some teams, though not as strong, had abundant experience and strong team cohesion.
