Dart started the first set with her serve, and both players held their ground for most of the opening set, with no breaks of serve until the ninth game. In Bai’s crucial non-service game, the Chinese player couldn’t withstand the pressure as Dart broke serve for the first time all match, securing the first set 6-4.

In the second set, Dart continued her momentum, breaking Bai early to take a 3-0 lead. A rain delay of approximately one hour interrupted play, but upon resumption, Bai failed to regain her rhythm promptly. Dart capitalized, winning three more games in a row to clinch the second set 6-0, sealing her victory.

Last year at Wimbledon, Bai also advanced to the main draw after three qualifying rounds, securing her first Grand Slam main draw win in the first round. However, Bai has now bowed out in the opening round of this year’s Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon, consecutive Grand Slam tournaments, which will result in her slipping out of the top 100 rankings following the conclusion of Wimbledon.
