According to the official Wimbledon website, on June 30th (Beijing Time), former Wimbledon women’s singles semifinalist and doubles champion, Chinese tennis star Zheng Jie, will participate in the women’s doubles legends category at this year’s Wimbledon. Her partner will be former US Open runner-up and Italian great, Vinci.

Zheng Jie’s career has many memorable moments at Wimbledon. In 2006, she and her partner, Yan Zi, triumphed in the Wimbledon women’s doubles competition, securing their second Grand Slam doubles title after winning the Australian Open that same year. In 2008, Zheng, recovering from an injury, received a wildcard entry into the women’s singles main draw at Wimbledon. She upset then-world number one Ivanovic in the third round and advanced to the semifinals, becoming the first Chinese player to reach the singles semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament.

This year’s Wimbledon women’s doubles legends event features a star-studded lineup, with former champion Barty teaming up with Dellacqua, Clijsters partnering with Hingis, A.
