Team Germany
The German team consists of Jan-Lennard Struff, Dominik Koepfer, Kevin Krawietz, and Tim Puetz, led by captain Michael Kohlmann. Among them, Struff is the highest-ranked player at No.37 globally. He clinched his first ATP Tour singles title this year at the Munich clay-court event and reached the final at the Madrid Masters in 2023. He also boasts a notable doubles record, having won four ATP Tour men’s doubles titles.
The 30-year-old left-hander Koepfer is currently ranked No.62 in the world, having peaked at No.49 in March. Krawietz and Puetz are renowned doubles specialists, having claimed victory together last year in Hamburg. Krawietz is a two-time French Open men’s doubles champion, while Puetz is the 2023 French Open mixed doubles champion and the 2021 Paris Masters men’s doubles champion.
Germany secured its spot in this year’s finals group stage by narrowly defeating Hungary 3-2 in the Davis Cup World Group Qualifiers in February. Their debut in the Davis Cup dates back to 1913, and they have been crowned champions three times—in 1988, 1989, and 1993.
Team USA
Sebastian Korda, Marcos Giron, Brandon Nakashima, Rajeev Ram, and Austin Krajicek will represent Team USA, under the captaincy of doubles legend Bob Bryan. Currently ranked No.22 in the world, Korda comes from a sporting family and is a standout “Gen Z” tennis star; his father won the Australian Open men’s singles title in 1998.
Giron and Nakashima hold world rankings of No.46 and No.53 in singles, respectively. Ram and Krajicek are the team’s doubles mainstays. Ram was ranked world No.1 in men’s doubles in 2022 and has four Grand Slam men’s doubles titles to his name; Krajicek became world No.1 in men’s doubles in June 2023 after winning the French Open men’s doubles title that same year.
Team USA earned their spot in this year’s finals group stage by sweeping Ukraine 4-0 in the Davis Cup World Group Qualifiers in February. They are the most successful team in Davis Cup history, having won the title in their inaugural appearance in 1900, and have claimed the trophy 32 times, with their latest triumph in 2007.
Team Slovakia
The Slovakian team is made up of Josef Kovářík, Lukáš Klein, Alex Molčan, Norbert Gombos, and Igor Zelenay, captained by Tibor Toth. Kovářík is Slovakia’s highest-ranked male singles player at present, having won two Challenger titles this season.
In the Davis Cup World Group Qualifiers in February, Slovakia delivered an impressive performance, securing a 4-0 away win against last year’s runners-up Serbia, thus locking in a precious spot in the finals group stage.
Slovakia’s first appearance in the Davis Cup was in 1994, with their best result being the runner-up position in 2005 when they narrowly lost 2-3 to Croatia in the final.
Team Chile
Nicolas Jarry, Alejandro Tabilo, Cristian Garín, Tomás Barrios Vera, and Matías Soto will represent Chile, with captain Nicolás Massú. Massú reached his career-high ranking of No.9 in 2004, becoming the only male tennis player in history to win both the Olympic singles and doubles gold medals in Athens. After retiring, he served as Dominic Thiem’s coach, helping the Austrian star claim the US Open title in 2020.
Tabilo and Jarry are Chile’s top-ranked male players at No.20 and No.23, respectively. Tabilo pulled off a stunning upset against Djokovic at this year’s Rome Masters, reaching the semifinals of his first Masters tournament. Jarry also excelled in the same event, making it to his first Masters final.
Chile secured their spot in the finals group stage by edging out Peru 3-2 in the Davis Cup World Group Qualifiers in February. Chile’s first appearance in the Davis Cup was in 1928, with their best result being the runner-up position in 1976 after losing in the final to Italy.
