On July 12, Beijing time, the 2024 ASICS Junior Tennis Tour·Zhengzhou Station kicked off enthusiastically at the Zhengzhou University of Technology’s Youth Campus Tennis Court. Hundreds of young tennis players from U10, U12, and U14 groups across the country gathered in Zhengzhou to hone their skills, chase their passion, and vie for championship trophies and qualification for the grand finals.
The ASICS Junior Tennis Tour is a tailor-made original junior tennis tournament designed by ASICS for Chinese youth. Since its launch in 2022, it has received widespread attention and affirmation, creating and providing a professional tournament platform and exchange opportunities for young tennis enthusiasts. This event is hosted by ASICS (China) Trading Co., Ltd., organized by Lingshu (Shanghai) Sports Development Co., Ltd., and has received strong support from the Henan Province Tennis Association, the Zhengzhou General Sports Federation, and the Zhengzhou Culture, Tourism, and Sports Industry Group.
In the opening ceremony held on the morning of the 12th, Zhang Zhongyang, Chairman of the Henan Province Tennis Association, Yang Qingnian, Vice President of Zhengzhou University of Technology, Zhang Yingsong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physical Education of Zhengzhou University of Technology, Chen Miaomiao, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Henan Province Tennis Association and Chairman of Zhengzhou Sports Group, Xie Danyang, Market Department of ASICS (China) Trading Co., Ltd., and other leaders and guests jointly served the first ball for the event.
Zhengzhou Station is the second official event of this year’s ASICS Junior Tennis Tour. Subsequent events will include two more branch tournaments and the national finals in Shanghai. This year’s tournament has been upgraded to a “Chinese Junior Tennis Ranking Tournament” Class B event, with a level of CTJ-B600, significantly enhancing the tournament’s influence and the quality of players. Champions of each group can earn 600 points, runners-up 420 points, and quarter-finalists in each group will receive certificates of achievement. Champions and runners-up will also receive trophies and ASICS tennis equipment rewards. In addition, champions and runners-up of the U10 and U12 groups, as well as champions of the U14 group, will receive direct qualification for the finals.
Since its inception, the ASICS Junior Tennis Tour has been committed to assisting young people in continuously striving and pursuing their dreams on the tennis path. At the event site of the Zhengzhou station, a DIY tennis charm booth was set up. Young players could visit the booth during breaks to select and match their favorite ASICS tennis charms, making it full of fun.

The first day’s competition of the U12 group was launched first. On the court, all the young players were energetic and running to hit the balls. In the men’s singles arena, No. 3 seed Li Siming defeated No. 1 seed Sun Hanshao 6-4, winning the championship undefeated in seven matches. In the women’s singles arena, No. 3 seed Jin Zhenrong and No. 2 seed Shi Haoyu fought until the tiebreak, with Jin Zhenrong eventually winning the tiebreak with a small score of 7-2. She also won all seven matches in this competition.

After the game, U12 girls’ singles champion Jin Zhenrong said: “At the beginning of the match, my hand feel wasn’t good, but gradually the whole body became excited, the serving state improved, the forehand could exert strength, and the ball quality became better.” Regarding this competition, Jin Zhenrong expressed that the experience was great, and apart from winning the match, the DIY tennis charm was also very interesting.
