Regarding the match, Wang Xinyu stated that her opponent put immense pressure on her right from the start. “I didn’t have many opportunities to adjust today; she served well and put significant pressure on my serve, especially on second serves.”

“I know she’s a fighter who goes all out for every point, very focused. The main issue was not being able to gain an advantage early on. It’s quite regrettable today, as I couldn’t fully play my game. But learning from these top players is a valuable lesson and experience.”

Reflecting on her serving performance today, Wang Xinyu said, “When your opponent doesn’t pressure you, of course, everyone serves well. I think part of it is due to the opponent, but also, I wasn’t dominant in my serve, return, or baseline play today, so I put more pressure on myself mentally.”

Regarding fans’ comments on social media, Wang Xinyu mentioned she doesn’t pay much attention to such information. “I believe it’s because we’re playing better now, attracting more interest and expectations for us to win. I choose to see it that way. They want Chinese tennis players, including me and others, to keep winning. But I don’t think it’s necessary to be too concerned about other things, as I’m the one playing the matches and I know best what needs improvement, what new things I’ve learned, and where I’ve progressed. I think I understand these things clearly within myself.”

Wang Xinyu also expressed that the Olympics are very special to her, and she looks forward to competing in them. Regarding the expectations surrounding her doubles partnership with Zheng Saisai at the Olympics, she said, “We both enjoy playing on clay and work well together. When given the opportunity, I need to do my part. I think it’s about taking it one match at a time and focusing on the present.” Discussing her goals for the second half of the season, Wang Xinyu hopes to stay healthy when returning to hard courts and greet the hardcourt season in good health.

In her prediction for the Wimbledon women’s singles champion, Wang Xinyu believes that Rybakina will ultimately win the title, while in the bottom half of the draw, anyone has a chance.
